Lawang Pulger worked for His Holiness the Dalai Lama for many years in what were the hardest times in Tibetan history. Among many works in his long and productive life, he founded the Central School for Tibetans (CST) in Darjeeling, and received a Medal for Distinguished Service from the government of India.
